This incident, which was attributed to suspected private key leaks, prompted the foundation to develop a structured reimbursement plan for all impacted participants. According to the latest progress update, the protocol intends to provide full financial restitution to every affected user, utilizing assets held within its treasury to facilitate the process.

Structure of the Compensation Program

To ensure an efficient distribution of funds, IoTeX has categorized claims based on the total value of the assets lost during the exploit. The foundation has established specific criteria to prioritize the majority of the user base:

• Users with losses under $1,000 will receive compensation in stablecoins. This group accounts for more than 90% of those affected by the incident.
• Users with losses exceeding $1,000 will be compensated in full through a staged distribution model.
