The proposal, approved by the Open Gov Polkadot community, involved acquiring 968,000 DOT (approximately $6.5 million) for sponsorship. The aim of the "sports sponsorship fund" was to establish a partnership with Inter Miami, a team described as "one of the most engaging and popular sports teams globally."

While the goal is to "elevate" the global visibility of the Polkadot brand, the plan involves deeper integration, leveraging Inter Miami's global fan base.

For example, the team plans to enhance user experience through NFT tokens and other gaming-related experiences deployed on Polkadot parachains. Additionally, the team intends to explore what Polkadot-based solutions can be implemented in Inter Miami, bringing greater efficiency and enhanced fan engagement initiatives.
