NFT-based Card Game Parallel

Parallel, a science fiction-themed trading card game utilizing non-fungible token (NFT) technology, will soon be available on the Epic Games Store (EGS). This announcement follows the game's recent $35 million funding.

Developers of Parallel have announced that their card game will be added to the extensive lineup of video games on the Epic Games Store platform. While an exact release date hasn't been provided yet, developers have assured players that the integration will allow them to directly download the game from the EGS platform. Additionally, players can already add the game to their wishlist.

Parallel, which combines card gaming with NFT technology, recently secured $35 million in funding from various investors, including Distributed Global, The Operating Group, VanEck, Solana Ventures, Base Ecosystem Fund, and Amber. The total funding for this game, which revolves around a strategic battle for control of Earth, has reached an impressive $85 million, with Paradigm being one of the main investors.

Parallel represents another offering for players interested in the cryptocurrency environment within the Epic Games Store. Earlier in February, a blockchain-based video game titled Shrapnel also garnered significant interest upon its early access release on EGS.

Epic Games Store's decision to embrace blockchain-based video games on its platform was made in December 2023. Despite previous concerns regarding an "Adults Only" rating assigned by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), Epic Games Store openly declares its support for such games. EGS recognizes their innovative solutions, which are increasingly attracting the attention of the gaming community.
