Terra Luna Classic: Approval of Block Size Reduction Proposal

The Terra Luna Classic community recently accepted a significant proposal aimed at addressing potential threats related to peer-to-peer attacks on the Terra Classic chain.

The proposal, titled "MaxBlockSize Reduction Proposal," was officially approved by the Terra Luna Classic community after surpassing the required threshold. The development team at Genuine Labs proposed reducing the MaxBlockSize from 5 MB to 2 MB as an initial security measure to combat peer-to-peer spam.

The proposal garnered immense support from the community, with a "Yes" vote result of 99.87%. This confirms the significance of increasing the block size limit to secure the chain against attacks.

Out of 56 validators, 55, including Allnodes, Interstellar Lounge, Interstake One, Jesus Is Lord, Stalely, and others, voted in favor of the proposal.

Validators deemed it the most realistic solution currently available, with Notional Labs CEO Jacob Gadikian additionally suggesting reducing the block size to between 850 kB and 1 MB.

Another proposal suggesting a 10x increase in gas fees was also submitted. Its proponents argue that current transaction fee levels are too low, enabling attacks to be carried out feasibly and economically.

This decision aims to enhance the security and stability of Terra Luna Classic in the face of potential threats while demonstrating the community's commitment to network development and protection.
