Trust Wallet Warns Apple Users

Trust Wallet, a provider of cryptocurrency wallets, is urging Apple device users to disable iMessage, citing "credible information" about a new security vulnerability that could allow hackers to take control of users' phones.

The company's CEO, Eowyn Chen, shared a screenshot of the alleged vulnerability, which is being offered on the dark web for $2 million. According to Trust Wallet, this vulnerability poses a high risk as it could infiltrate iPhones and take control of them, even without clicking on links.

A zero-day exploit is a type of threat that exploits unknown or unresolved vulnerabilities in software or computer hardware. Trust Wallet warns that all cryptocurrency wallets stored on iPhones with iMessage enabled are at risk.

Trust Wallet is calling on users to disable iMessage to secure their devices. Over 1.2 million X users saw the Trust Wallet warning on X within the first four hours. Zero-day exploits pose a serious threat to the security of Apple devices, and effective preventive measures are necessary to protect users' privacy and security.
